The CAMPUS Asia Plus Program at Kobe University will organize the “Risk Management Seminar” on Wednesday, January 14, 2026, in the GSICS Presentation Room on the 4th floor. We invite Dr. Tomo Kawane, a Senior Researcher at India-Japan Laboratory, Keio University. Dr. Kawane also serves as a Researcher at Hiroshima University and Asia Eurasia Research Institute.

Moving beyond physical infrastructure such as seawalls and evacuation shelters, the lecture highlights the role of social innovation, civil society, grassroots organizations, and local communities in building resilience. Through case examples, we will discuss how the concept of “related population” can revitalize regional ties and enhancing disaster preparedness as well as response.

We look forward to your participation.
